Grass Length

Hello from a Newby to the Forum.

I live in Post Falls Idaho, which IF you find it on the map is in northern Idaho.

I’m getting ready for winter and am curious how long I should mow the lawn for the last time before snow.

I barely know the difference between Bluegrass and a Buttercup. My grass has blades and right now its beginning to turn brown. Nightly temps are running mid to high 30s and daytime to high 70s low 80s.

Besides pulling some grass and going to the plant store/ Extension Office, what are some suggestions?
