I have two spots in my yard that is starting to turn brown. I fertilized about one month ago with a weed and feed. I also put out some bug killer about two weeks ago. We have gotten a pretty good bit of rain the past week and now my lawn is starting to look really bad. I live in the upstate of South Carolina. Thanks for any advice that you may have. Here are some pics…This one is all by itself-http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/joshua5438/Yard/DSC02379.jpg

This one is starting to cover the yard-http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/joshua5438/Yard/DSC02380.jpghttp://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/joshua5438/Yard/DSC02381.jpghttp://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e91/joshua5438/Yard/DSC02382.jpg

I don’t have a clue but I googled it and this is what I found:

Brown patch will affect all turfgrass species but is most commonly observed on fescueduring the summer months. The fungus that causes brown patch creates dead spots ongrass blades that can consume entire leaves and lead to patch formation. Patches mayexpand to several feet in diameter.

OR

The misapplication of fertilizer or herbicides can cause browning. Fillingspreaders on the driveway is a good practice because fertilizer spills can cause browningand death of turf. Also, keep in mind that not all weed killers are labeled for the type of grass you have. Check the label to be sure that the product you purchase is safe to use on your lawn.

Hope this helped a little..sorry I can’t give you an answer..

Do you have dogs or cats? I had something very similar because of my dogs.
