Can anyone tell me the best grass for Col. area? I have 1 large dog 2 children and a big muddy mess. I saw an add for rushindustries featuring a seed that was developed by universities to withstand cold, drought, traffic, etc. Anyone have any experience with this product? thanks

Check out the factsheet from Ohio State Cooperative Extension – “Turfgrass Species Selection” [http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/4000/4011.html]. It will help you make a choice of the best species/mixture. As for “Quickgreen” (the seed advertised by Rush Industries), unless you can find out what grass species, cultivar, or mixture it is, I would avoid it. It’s very difficult to manage turf properly if you don’t know what you’re working with (kind of like repairing a car without knowing what the make and model is).
