I live in Michigan where zoysia is uncommon. I have 2 patches of zoysia taking over my lawn of bluegrass. How can I get rid of the zoysia?

I live in central PA. Zoysia is common here, but I have the same problem- two patches that are taking over an otherwise nice lawn. I’m told by local nurseries that Round-up is the only way to get rid of it, but I’ve sprayed the lawn 5-6 times over the course of the summer & the stuff keeps coming back! ARRRGGG!!! I called the folks at roun-up & they claim it isn’t for killing grass…just weeds. What?!?

I need help too!!!

Any one want to consider a class action suit?

If the zoysiagrass is unwanted, it’s a weed.

Roundup is not selective; it is capable of killing any green vegetation that it touches, and one of its main uses is for turfgrass renovation, including the removal of unwanted grasses.

Roundup is also used to selectively remove weeds, including patches of grasses growing in other grasses. But since the herbicide is not selective, in this case it must be carefully applied to the weeds, in this case just the zoysiagrass.
