A FEW YEARS AGO I WAS ADVISE THAT A UNIIVERSITY IN FLORIDA WAS RESEARCHING A AFRICAN GRASS .THEY SAID YOU HAD TO WATER 4 TIMES A YEAR ..BUT STILL DOING RESEARCH.DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO.THAK YOU

A lot of rubbish, sorry.There is no kind of turfgrasses that can survive with such minimal watering. Irrigation requirements of turfgrasses is based on evapotranspirational rates and soil texture. What you are talking about sounds nore like cactus plants which are called CAMS and only respire during the night which reduces their water requirements resulting in less water need.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
