Dry Grass

We just recently purchased 2 pallets of grass and have been waiting for a month for delivery (out of state, St. Agustine) As luck would have it, we had to go to a funeral service and they decide to deliver that day. The grass sat in the sun from around 2 pm till we got home around 10 pm. The grass seems very dry and I am wondering if I can save it or did I just waste my money. Please respond quickly as I must start laying at the Buttcrack of dawn to hopefully safe it if I ca****************@us.mil

I would get it laid out immediately. Try watering it 2-3times a day to keep it moist. You dont want to water for very long. In other words don’t get the ground soggy…just keep the grass moist. Dont wait around to see if youve wasted your money. The least you can do is try! Where are you located anyhow?

Thanks. We are located in Diamondhead, Mississippi and the grass was delivered from Alabama. We laid it out this morning. I have watered it once immediately after laying it. I also used some fertilizer prior to watering. I hope all of this works. First time for laying sod.
