Drainfield Impervious to Zoysia?

Hi All-
I love my Zoysia lawn! It has thrived in all areas of my backyard except for.. the drain field? What gives? If you copy/paste these coordinates into Google Maps and zoom in you can see my lawn in the Spring:
37°18’6.85″N 79°16’24.30″W
The Zoysia hasn’t greened for the year yet but you can see the long claw marks of another grass thriving over my drain field. Ugggh! Any ideas?

Unwanted grass over a drain field is a nightmare. I had Bermuda take hold over mine. I’d try Gly-Star. You may have to spray it several times and allow it to get tall when you spray it. If that don’t help , spray it and cover the area with black plastic. Go overboard cover the area and a little more . Don’t replant until you are certain it’s gone. Could take a month or longer.

So your Zoysia “isn’t” growing over the drain field? Very odd as grass usually loves that area. Maybe get the soil tested to see what they say. Leach fields are usually very alkaline from cleaners going down the drain. Zoysia prefers neutral balanced soil.
