Dollar Weed Controls My Yard

I have tried Scotts Bonus-S, at one oint I decided to use round up to just kill off most offending area and re-plug with St. Augustine. Almost my entire yard of St. Augustine is overrun with dollar weed. Seems weed and feed actually helps it grow better. Any fix for this without killing my existing lawn?

I’ve had semi-good luck with Atrizine. However, the real cure is to cut back on watering. Dollar weed take losts of water to grow. I assume Tampa still get considerable free water from the sky, but you can cut back on the frequency you irrigate the lawn. Idea is to hold off watering until the turf begins to wilt (e.g., goes off, leaves roll, foot prints show, etc) then apply 3/4 to 1 inch of water.

I saw your note mentioning Atrazine. Dollar Weed is not specifically mentioned on the label. Is there another name for Dollar Weed?

2,4-d products with a little soap. Might be too late in the season to do much about now. Spraying will do much better than granular.
