does zoysia seed

I have meyer zoysia i sodded last spring this spring i have dark colored looking seed growing in it! It is possible the zoysia I purchased could had bermuda in it but this doesn’t look anything like a bermuda grass seed. Does anyone have any suggetions?

Yes Zoysia produces seed. There should be a purplish colored cast to your lawn. It will do this every spring. They will go away in a few weeks to maybe as much as a month depending on the weather.
