Disease or not a disease?

There is a patch of grass in my front yard that has recently just “laid down”. It is laying flat against the ground like a crop circle; however, it is not dead, it is fully green. I also noticed when I pulled the grass back, the roots where a funny yellowish color. This is probably an easy one to diagnose, but I can’t seem to figure it out. Please help.

Josh, what type of turfgrass do you have and what is the location (state and country)? What is the diameter of the patch, and is it circular or blotchy? In the early morning is there any finely webbed threads near the based of the leaves? Just one patch? Phil
