Creeping Red Fescue’s Natural Weedkiller

Just read a couple articles about M-tyrosine, an exudate from the roots of F. rubra rubra that acts as a natural weedkiller. Supposedly, M-tyrosine is chemically close to L-tyrosine, which is sold over the counter as a nutritional supplement. I have a patch of loose parking gravel at the front of my yard that has some weeds in it, and I’m thinking about using it as a small experimental patch to see if a little L-tyrosine added to my sprayer might just help getting rid of those weeds. Has anybody tried this, or considered it or have any thoughts?
