centipede pallet life

I just purchased a pallet of centipede recently harvested to patch up some bad spots in my lawn. The only problem is that I might have purchased it a bit too soon and I am worried about it going bad on the pallet.
Is there a certain amount of time it can stay on the pallet? And if so, is there anything I need to do to keep it good?
