Canada Green

I’ve recently sown Canada Green in areas of our lawn that were either bare or where I’ve added more soil. It sprouts within about three days. I was told by a landscaper that May and June are the optimal times (in KY) to sow grass. I just spread the seed by hand and didn’t even cover it with soil and it has been growing like crazy. Whether or not it will spread, stay green all year round, etc. is still up for debate. I’ll have to post again next year to give you an update. We have severe problems with moles too, so my lawn has been uneven and the grass dies out where the moles have tunneled (little devils!). I’m gradually getting that problem solved though.

By the way, does anyone have a recommendation on how soon to mow Canada Green once it has started to sprout?? Mine is 3-4 inches tall now, but is very thin. Thanks!
