Can I mix grasses?

We have just cut down 3 huge oak trees in order to have grass in front of our house. There are still many smaller oaks further away from our house so that area is pretty shaded. The large area nearest our home is total sun all day now. I understand that I can plant centepede where there is plenty of sun but I want to sod the shaded area also. Should I plant St. Augustine there? I did not know what would eventually happen if I mix the 2 sods.
ThanksDenise

I would not personally mix any two grasses. Then your stuck making choices about treatments based on which grass is the most dominate in your yard.
If shade is an issue … stick with St. Augustine.
