Burnt grass around pond
GARoss – posted 22 May 2010 07:22
We have a new built home & after 4 years the lawn (3.5 acres) is finally looking good. We needed back-fill around the house so we had a pond dug. Over time algae set in & tried a number of things to kill it without success until we tried a herbicide. It seems that some of the herbicide (Karmex) used to kill the algae carried on to the lawn & has burnt several areas. It resembles fertilizer burns.I’m looking for advice but my first thought was to use a rototiller to thoroughly re-mix the soil; then re-seed those affected areas & maybe cover with straw to keep the sloped areas from washing away into the pond. Sound like a good plan? All suggestions are appreciated!
