Can replacing bermuda grass with st augustine rid the bermuda grass and would the use of chemicals ruin the chances of the st. augustine from growing

Healthy St Aug can choke out bermuda. Set your mower on the highest setting and then have it welded in that position. There is no reason to EVER scalp St Aug. Maybe some grasses can handle that but St Aug will serve you 10 times better at the high setting all year round. Tall St Aug will shade out the bermuda seed and the plant itself along with most all other weeds you might get. The bermuda will persist for awhile, but not forever.

Both grasses seem to grow with chemical fertilizers. What chemicals are you asking about?
