Brown spot reoccurance

Hello list,
I have a well established St. Augustine lawn, that has repeatedly shown signs of brown spot problems. Our extension agent diagnosed the problem and recommended daconil or equivalent to control the problem. After losing nearly a third of my yard during last winter, I am again seeing beginnings of brown spot. Have tried searching for the cause, but most brown spot info relates to soybeans. Here in E. central Ga, our drought situation has gone from bad to worse to make matters more difficult. My watering regime consists of full (1″) only at wilt, so frequent shallow waterings aren’t the problem. Can someone point me to any references on control of brown spot, and/or suggest measures I can take to prevent these reoccurances?
A cc: to sa*@****hy.net would be greatly appreciated.
