How do you tell the difference between, “Brown patch” and Cinch Bugs? IS Brown Patch and Take All the same thing?

brown patch is a disease. chinch bugs are insects. brown patch is best prevented by wtaering deeply and infrequently and by using fungicides for prevention.

Note the sort of circular pattern, well, at least the disease is all contained inside one sort of circular perimeter with that yellow halo. Brown patch likes cool evenings of spring and fall. You won’t see it in the heat of summer.
Chinch bugs will develop in irregular shapes. Chinch bugs like the sunny, hot and dry conditions.
Brown patch and take-all root rot are not the same. Take-all will develop in irregular shapes, too, but it DOES NOT loosen the plant from the roots. Brown patch will loosen the root from the plant. Both like the cooler damper periods, though.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
