Borwn Patch
GWR – posted 13 September 2004 07:48
Our sod is centipede. It is 6 months old. Just two days ago we noticed a couple of areas with yellow/brown grass. They now appear circular and are brown. There are now 7 of the “patches”. We believe this is brown patch. We are located in central Alabama (and have had a lot of rain from Frances). Could someone please advise us. What to buy, how to apply, how often?? Any help is appreciated.

you need to positively I.D. this problem…any “lesions” on the leaf blades? If not, it could simply be water damage…or any of a number of other ailments. Need more detailed info!

Thanks for your reply. I see no lesions on the grass blades. It seems to be the entire blade…yellow, then brown. I am pretty sure it is brown patch from what I have read on the subject. We have had a lot of rain. First from Frances and just recently Ivan. It’s been humid and overcast…hopefully we can remedy this before it’s too late.
