I am thinking about sodding my hard with bitterblue. I have heard it grows good in the shade. Is this true? How much should I expect to pay for this. I am in Central Florida…Lakeland between Tampa and Orlando. Thanks.

I have researched Bitterblue and have been told it is the best of the St. Augsitine variety for shade, however if you have access to Zoysia, get it instead.

Is Zoysia more tolerant to shade than Bitter Blue? I’m getting contradicting info from sod folks and I’m so confused as to which would be a better sod. Is there anyone that can come out and look at your yard to see what would work best???

I would not use Empire Zoysia in a well shaded lawn. It likes the sun…..
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
I am from the north and it has taken me five yrs to learn and undertand seville lawns. No 1…
