Bermuda with adjacent Rye

My neighbor’s yard (which runs directly into mine) is filled with this very green (even during winter) ryegrass which grows sporadically and into my yard. Is there anyway i can control the spread of his rye into my bermuda w/o killing both?

maybe a little roundup ( on your side) when the bermuda is completely dormant. don’t worry- it won’t last into the hot weather.

seriously! after being contracted on several golf courses, rye is what you want in the cooler months to ensure a lush green lawn. it wont hurt a thing. actually it will help the appearance of your lawn/ landscape. If I were you, i would incorperate it next fall! you can even cut rye to the ground! it is a bit messy in the peak of the season but it is worth the struggle. i personally use a perrinal rye to keep all my turf customers happy. But they also have to work at keeping thier lawn groomed. I have to tell you , i have the greenest lawns in 3 area codes.

the issue is that i dont mind a dormant bermuda…heck that is part of life. However, in my opinion rye is never worth it. It grows to wildly…long, short, it cuts oddly…but thanks for the advice/opinion. I will try some roundup this wknd.
