bermuda sprigs mowing question

I have spriged an area of my lawn 3 weeks ago. The bermuda sprigs are doing great.
My question is this. I have not mowed over the sprigs, they are gettting tall and do have a few runners coming from them.
Should I mow them? If so at what height? Will mowing cause them to force more lateral growth?
Thanks

Yep, you can mow, just make sure the soil is not too wet and soft! If its too soft to support a mower, (without the wheels making deep tracks in the soil), rent a roller to firm up the soil. Mowing height will be about 1 inch to start, and then later (as the grass matures), you can determine if you want to mow shorter. What type of bermuda is it? What kind of mower do you have?
