Bermuda is dying

Until last year my Bermuda lawn was lush and green. I have a company to treat and fertilize and during the winter I notice that the grass appeared to be disappearing primarily under the tree in the front yard. Everyone is telling me it’s from the tree but in five years this is the first time this has happened.
