Bare Spot coverage…

I purchased a home and there is a bare spot about 8′ x 20′ where the sod didnt take. The rest of the yard is doing well with St. Augustine. I am wondering what (if any) type of seed I could put down that will grow and fill in for a few months until next spring/summer when the St. Aug will start to spread out. I am hoping to find something that the St. Aug will just over grow.
Thanks for any input.
