Aerating vs. Verticutting..

I have a bermuda lawn and want to aerate it.. I have recently heard about verticutting, but was unsure of the benefits… Which would be better for the lawn.. Any help would be appreciated…

Vertical mowing/cutting is a method of thatch removal. Checkout UF publication at:
