Blue Grass Lawn in Colorado, Browning of the sod

I have a fairly large yard, and have 2 sections that are experiencing similar problems. I would describe it as browning of the blades, the problem areas are growing slowly. They are not spots, but broad swatches of brown. The sod has been in a year and the rest of it looks great. I just don’t know where to begin. Thanks for any help or troubleshooting advice.-Mark
