Newly put dead sod

I just bought a new house and yet to move in. I’m a little worried about the lawn. They reciently layed down new sod on only half the yard and it appears to be dead already. I’ve looked up what I should do on the computer but it’s not telling me much. I’d apprieciate it if someone could give me a few tips. Thanks.

Sorry: my location is Panama City, FL. and the turf is more of a sandy hard soil.
