Newly Sodded Jamur Zoysia – HELP

knemky – posted 26 May 2011 16:50

I recently (last saturday) sodded 2700 sq ft with jamur zoysia and have no sprinkler system. I am using one of those watering tractors. The tractor on low takes about 8-9 hours to finish the new sodded areas. I have to water after work as I have no time in the mornings. I am worried about fungus because about 3 hours of watering is done after the sun has gone down. Weather here in central texas has been hot this week (close to 100 degrees). 2 weeks of watering like this everyday is going to drive me crazy. Any suggestions?

Don’t know about the Zoysia but I have been using one of those mobile lawn sprinklers for the last 15 years on my lawn. It spreads the water evenly and has a shutoff when you reach the end of the watering area to save water. Some of us don’t have the money for a sprinkler system. I guess that’s funny too.

Don’t worry about watering at night, it’s likely not going to cause any harm. It rains at night. My yard has never had any fugus from night time rains.
