zoysia in florida

I was wondering if zoysia goes brown in Florida in the winter. I am in Orlando. here we may see 1 or 2 freezes in a winter at most. Is it like Floritan, where if you keep it watered it will stay green?
Any recomendations on which varieties are better here?
Thanks,Greg

Greg,
I live about 30 minutes south of Macon, Ga. I know its not Florida but it is usually fairly warm here. I have Emerald Zoysia and it browns around November/December and greens up about April. I don’t know much about the other types of Zoysia.

If you have a frost/freeze zoysia definitely goes brown. If it gets down in the 40’s you are going to lose lots of color.
