killing wild Bermuda

I have a yard full of wild Bermuda grass, and want to replace it with St. Augustine sod. I hired a lawn company to kill the Bermuda with Roundup. The technician said the Bermuda seeds would remain in the soil, just waiting to germinate, and would inevitably return. Is there a way to permanently get rid the Bermuda? The new sod will cost $2000, which I don’t want to spend if the Bermuda will eventually take over.

have them spray it twice with pro strength roundup- then sod it- shouldn’t be a problem.
