Zoysia Care

I planted zoysia plugs in my yard five years or so ago. They have spread to around 8-12 feet in diameter. What can I do to make them grow/spread faster. I have never put any fertilizer on them. When it gets hot I usually water the zoysia spots. What else can I do?

Hard to give a better answer without knowing where you live and what other type grass you have. One simple way is to buy a good (avoid a cheap one) grass plugger and make your own plugs and put where you want the zoysia to grow.
