Zoysia VS. Bermuda

Is there a way to target the old Bermuda without killing the Zoysia? In an earlier post, back in April, I asked about lifting the sod and clearing out the bermuda roots. Even though I did that, it’s till coming through.

I’ve been pulling it out, but it keeps coming back. I have a feeling that I’m going to wear out before it does. Any suggestions?

see Fusilade II thread below, or google “fusilade II”. My lawn guy is starting treatments with it this week. I hope it works. I love my zoysia lawn, but it’s no match for that damned bermuda.

update for you Apache…Two weeks following treatment, it is obvious where the Fusillade II was applied, as it has dealt a serious blow to the Bermuda as well as causing some injury to my Zoysia. This was expected, and the zoysia should recover. I will update again in a couple of weeks.

I ain’t thank u can get rid of dem dame burmuda. I have dem same problems 3 years and going and dere ain’t no shopping dem suucker no. Dey keep on coming back stronger like dem dame mosquito, multipling. Just my experince on dem but dere ain’t no trying with hyou sir.

Someone on another message board posted this study for me. I think my weed and fert guy is familiar with it and is treating my lawn with fluazifop and triclopyr. It really seems to be working. I don’t know if it will kill the bermuda, but it is definitely controlling it. It was everywhere before, and now I can only find it in a few areas that were missed with the sprayer.
