Zoysia Growth

I planted 2400 plugs of zoysia Meyer 4 weeks ago. I planted them in a checker pattern as advised by the famr in Maryland.

Besides the weeds in between the plugs I see some growth, however I don’t know whether it is new growth, crabgrass or something else.

Can anybody give me a hint how to determine if it is new growth or pictures of new zoysia?

I try to clear the weeds between plugs every two weeks but I am afraid I am scraping new growth.
