Zoysia fungus or fertilizer?

My Zoysia (Imperial) lawn is very brown with some purple in the blades. It was installed in Naples Florida in mid September 2011. For the first six weeks I watered every day for 20 minutes now watering 2 times a week for ten minutes. I have been told by the person that installed it I need to fertilize it the local fertilizer company told me I over watered and it has a fungus. I applied funguscide and cut back watering three weeks ago but it looks worse. I would appreciate your help?

Do you have any pictures? Is it brown or straw colored? It’s the time of year where most zoysia has gone straw colored (dormant) from the air temps and dry season.
