Hi All – This is my first post although I’ve been lurking here for a long time.

I planted Zorro Zoysia in late March and despite the drought we’re still experiencing in Austin, it’s done pretty well. I’ve got two weeds growing in the lawn that I’m trying to deal with now that things have settled in a little bit.

Here’s a picture of the weed I’m trying to identify. It has spread so much that it’s not really feasible for me to go out and start pulling it. Can you guys/gals help me identify it and possibly provide a spray that won’t hurt my turf? A friend told me it was “creeping charlie” but it doesn’t look like it to me. Thoughts?

The other is nutsedge but I picked up some Image a couple of weeks ago and its doing the trick.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Use a broadleaf weed killer (such as ‘weed B gone’) . Spray it in the evening when the sun is low, and don’t water for 24 hours. Mid day spray will burn the Zoysia. You will probably have some of the weed coming back throughout the summer and early fall, so repeated sprays may be neccesary. It looks like some type of ‘spurge’.

Those look similar to a weed I have on my work-in-progress seeded lawn.I usually pull them after watering the lawn when the ground is soft/moist.Never seem them that grown though.
