Zeon or JaMur

Hi all,

I live in Kyle and I am completely re-doing my backyard. This includes replacing my existing bermuda grass that I grew from seeds with some type of Zoysia grass. The two types of zoysia grass that I am interested are Zeon and JaMur. I have seen the Zeon and really like it. No place that I have called seems to have JaMur for me to go and look at so does anyone have a good picute of JaMur grass that I have look and get an idea of how it looks. Also for people who know these two types of grass what are the pros and cons between them. I heard that Zeon tends to bend while Jamur doesn’t. Also what preparations do I have to do before installin these grasses? Is it sufficient enought to just cut my existing berbuda grass as low as I can and them till the dirt before installing the zoysia grass? Or do I have to kill the bermuda first with Roundup before I install the grass. Also my builder put some type of red dirt in my front and backyard and I am wondering if this dirt is okay for zoysia or am I going to have to put some good dirt?

You MUST kill all the Bermuda grass before installingZoysia or you will be killing it piece meal for the nexttwo or three years with expensive herbicides such asFusilade II. Tho’ I’d probably use ‘El Toro’ or Palisades’ for their cold hardiness.
