What’s the recommended winter mowing height for zoysia in Alabama?

I keep about the same height (3 inches +- one notch) year round, and the grass has been doing well.

Same with me around 3 to 3.5 inches year round and it seems to be doing well.

I am in the north metro area of Atlanta about 25 miles north of downtown.

My neighbor has the same Jamur zoysia installed arthe same time and keeps his a little shorter (I’m guessing 2.5 In) and it seems to do well also.

I live NW of Atlanta and have been mowing my 2 year old Zeon lawn at an average of 2″, raising to 2.5″ in the summer when needed. It has done well at that height. It’s at 2″ now and has been for the past two winters. I had thought about scalping, as I did last spring. After reading the latest thread about scalping Zeon, I plan to pass this year. (It’s a good thing too – the Zeon clippings are much fluffier than the Tift-419 Bermuda I have in the front yard. It takes a lot of passes and a lot of bag emptying to scalp Zeon to 1”!) If I do anything, it will only be lowering half an inch to 1.5″.
