This winter seems not too cold this year here in Chesapeake, VA. My empire zoysia grass is brown I expect that cause of colder temperature. When should I start preparing my grass for the spring season. My grass when we first put sod down this past May wasn’t really green. I would like my grass green this coming new year. Any suggestions?

I don’t do anything until June. I fertilize zoysia with organic fertilizer once or twice during the summer, which is my maintenance of zoysia besides mowing.
