What type of product does one use to winterize and control weeds on tifton bermuda? When should it be applied? Is liquid or granuals better? I live near birmingham and have battled weeds for 2 years. Lawn care services do not seem to work for me. Help!

It depends on what type of weeds you have! If you have broadleaf weeds growing now, you can use a winterizer fertilizer plus weed killer combo.(weed@feed). If you want to prevent winter grasses from germinating – use a pre-emergent (usually in dry form). Make sure you check labels on pre-emergent, as some are not safe for use on lawns. Also, most pre-emergent products now say-“weed preventer” on the label…..because most consumers didn’t know what the hell- pre-emergent means! haha!
