Will St Augustine grow in east San Diego?

Recently moved to east San Diego county from Oklahoma. I love St. Augustine’s wide blades! Will it work in San Diego?thank you!!

I would think it would grow well there – what are the average temps in SD? I’ve been told that SA really likes to be above 80 degrees to be growing – although right now in central Florida it’s been in the mid 70s and it’s still growing just not as fast.
The other worry there would be rain – or lack of it – you’ll have to make sure that you get your 1″ per week – looks like you’ll need to invest in an irrigation system.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
