Will St Augustine choke out Tall Fescue ?

Hi
I just bought a house that has tall fescue in the front yard but its thinning and dying. I was thinking of putting in some St Augustine plugs. Can st augustine choke out Tall Fescue?

It depends….I had it a S.A. lawn in FL. In the sun, the S.A. will overtake the fescue, but in shade, I think the fescue is more likely to win, all other things being equal.
