Why his and not mine??

I live in the Tampa Bay area and was wondering why the lawns in my area are so different. Some lawns look to have gone dormant but the the lawn right next door is as green as it would be in the summer. All the lawns in my neighborhood are St. Augustine. Does it have something to do with the care the lawn received last year? It just looks really crazy to see a yellow lawn then a green lawn then two more yellows than five greens after that.

The greener yards probably have better over-all maint. year around(including thatch removal)…..and they may also use a product containing iron when the weather turns cool. Some may also over seed with rye- as the other dude suggested.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
I am from the north and it has taken me five yrs to learn and undertand seville lawns. No 1…
