Which Lawn

Hey everybody. New to the site, looking for some good advice. I live west coast central florida. Currently have 40,000 square feet of Floritam that looks terrible. Dying, weeds ect. I am gonna put in a new lawn but have to decide which to go with. I am from Connecticut and used to the Fescues and such, these southern lawns and BUGS are really confusing me and costing me alot of money. Any thoughts will be helpful. I have been looking to Zoysia’s, Burmuda’s, Centipede’s and Bhaia. Leaning towards Burmuda or Zoysia, not sure which variaty. Really fustrated and need to have a nice lawn again so I can enjoy working in the yard. Thanks everybody

If you’ve got any shade worth mentioning stick with Zoysia, Bermudagrass & Bahia require full sun.

Check out seashore paspalum. Its a nice looking grass and does well in full sun, Gotta keep it cut low but it doesn’t grow as fast as bermuda. The can check out the sod Seadwarf at www.environmentalturf.com or you can even use the seed Seaspray which you can get at www.hancockseed.com which is located in Dade city fl

Spiva55 has a good point however that’s one highmaintenance grass. Low/moderate fertility and water but needs to see a Reel Mower twice a week!

Isn’t that one very expensive. I thought I saw the seed for like $500.00 for a 25lb bag or something like that? I,ve got about 40,000 sq ft to do and that will probably be a little over my head.
