We are going to be redoing our entire back yard soon and looking for a tough, durable, (that can withstand abuse from the kids/dog) that is heat/drought resistant type of grass.(we’re in Georgia, zone 8). Our grass is predominantly is centepede, but noticed in our back yard there is some bahia in the mix(very little though). We have a sandy type soil(sugar sand is what our pool builder said)

Most heavy wear situations in your area use Tif 419 bermuda. Its been a favorite on southern football fields for many years. It can also grow on pure sand.
