kramer,
I don’t know, but I bet the people at www.ntep.org will know. They have test results on practically every type of turfgrass.
Happy sifting……………..

you can always “juice” the zoysia into being green longer with nitrogen applications. however, i don’t recommend it. one of the big problems with zoysia is that it’s not green enough, long enough in the midwest for example. hitting it with alot of fert. now could severely damage it.

I have Empire in central Florida, that is still green. I have a new lawn , 3 months, and wondering if my will go dormant.

probably will go dormant depending upon your weather. zoysia is not really a “real” warm weather grass like st. aug.

I have emerald zoysia and it is still green (in Birmingham, AL) while most of my neighbor’s lawns have already turned brown. My last fertilization was in August with a pre-emergent application in November.

yeah, just be careful not to force too much growth this time of year. the dormancy is to protect to plant from winter stresses. you run the risk of having winterkill if you push it too hard.
