what grass should I plant for wet N. Oregon, I have an area that recieves heavy wear and is a clayey soil?? A grass that makes a nice yard and grows quickly would definately be a plus. Please state the best source for this grass if you know of one, seed or plugs, either one. I have fertilized and replanted 4 years in a row and as soon as fall rains start and the kids and dogs play on it for a few hours I have a giant mudwallow, again! I have tried various seed types for heavy traffic lawns, shade and sun, ect.. Thanks in advance!!

sounds like it’s more of a drainage problem than a turfgrass selection. i’m sure seeding is your viable option. check with local university turf web sites- the best source for info.stay away from hardware stores, county ag agents, etc.but to answer your question, i’m assuming either rye grass or bluegrass.
