Watering Restrictions

Just wanted to hear how everyone’s zoysia is holding up with the watering restrictions here in Tampa and any other part of Florida that has them. I’m having to sneak in an extra watering day during the week, or my lawn ends up looking like a hay field by the end of the week. To me its nearly impossible to only water Zoysia once a week here in Florida with the extreme heat we experience.

I went back to my normal “summer” schedule…20/zone twice a week. it still looks dried out but not as bad as my normal off season regime of 30/zone once a week.

At least it looks like we will be getting a ton of rain here in Tampa through the weekend so I don’t have to water twice!

Last summer a patch of zoysia in my lawn had never been watered. There was a month without any rain. This patch looks very healthy now even though we haven’t had any rain for ten days. I am going leave it along under the heat for a couple of weeks if there is no rainfall. Usually it recovers everyday during the night and early morning due to our high humidity.

Looks like the hurricane will be dumping 4+ inches in Tampa. Should be good to go!
Charlotte NC FINALLY got rain. I got a good pounding last night around 1:30AM. Nothing like waking up to that.
