Unattached Bermuda Runners
skillingsworth – posted 26 April 2004 11:18
I mowed yesterday and I noticed runners sticking up. It appears to be bermuda runners, but is there something else it could be? I’m moving a little bit lower than normal at 1.5″, Could this be the cause? Also, is there a grassy weed that is similar? FYI, I have common bermuda.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Does the blades of the runner match the bermuda or are they different (wider, thicker)?

The blades match existing grass. I did a little research and read that an application of pre-emergent for grassy weeds could keep the new runners from attaching. Don’t know if that’s true.
