Hi all, I’m hoping someone can help me out with choosing a type of turfgrass. I got a dog last year and she’s been slowly killing the lawn in our backyard. She tends to urinate in one area about 10′ long by 5′ wide. Last summer there were small brown patches here and there. Over the winter though, the entire area has completely died.
I’m going to work on training the dog to go in the woods, but the main battle was getting her to go outside so for now we’re happy enough that this has been successful.
Meanwhile I heard that turfgrass may be tough enough to withstand this, but I have no idea what kind to get. I live on Long Island, NY, if that has any relevance.

Try Meyer Zoysia grass. Check a local sod farm for availability.
