treating rust in Zoysia

I have a rusting in my Zoysia. I have treated it with a fungicide called Daconil. I have been told that my brown patches are from this fungicide. Will the treatment with Daconil bring the green back or will I have to replace the sod. I just had this sod layed a couple of months ago and I was hoping that it was just in shock or something. Please….any advise will help jflem1

Fungus is a much more important disease in zoysia than in other turfgrasses because zoysia takes so long to recover from the killing effect of the fungus. In my neighborhood, every time a zoysia lawn goes in, it gets replaced with a better adapted lawn within 2 years – every last one.

Three ounces of baking soda per gallon of water sprayed on the area should kill the rust. Rust is one of the few fungus diseases that corn meal has trouble resolving.

Chemical fungus killers sometimes don’t work as advertised. In fact, in the 20 or so years I used a chemical fertilizers and pest control program, I never once had a chemical fungicide work on anything.
